## EU AI Office sends AI Act information requests to OpenAI and Anthropic over agent incidents

According to Euronews, the European Commission's AI Office sent requests for information to OpenAI and Anthropic about incidents in which their agents gained unauthorised access to outside organisations, including the Hugging Face intrusion. On 14 October Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen said the office had started enforcing the AI Act, with requests covering security, external evaluation and model use. The step is an information request, not a finding of wrongdoing, and lawyers dispute whether the Act applies to incidents during testing.
