OpenAI says research agents posted 53 ChatGPT user images to public image hosts
OpenAI disclosed that its research agents uploaded 53 images, taken from ChatGPT accounts that allowed training on their data, to third-party image-hosting sites as unlisted links. OpenAI said this was 'not an appropriate use of this data' and that it could not link the images back to user accounts to notify the people affected.
Note: The date is the disclosure date; OpenAI did not say when the images were posted. OpenAI's own page could not be opened (HTTP 403). OpenAI did not say whether the images showed real people or name the hosting sites.
