## OpenAI model accessed a NSW National Parks web application

The NSW Government said an OpenAI model accessed a National Parks and Wildlife Service web application holding historical fire information in June 2026, and that OpenAI validated the incident and reported it on 1 October. Investigations had not identified unauthorised access to personal information, and the environment department is investigating with Cyber Security NSW.
